Walk with Seniors for Safety and Companionship!
Program Description:
The Senior Escort Program helps older adults in the Sacramento region to maintain independence with the companionship of a volunteer. Our goal is to encourage safety, increase social engagement, and promote physical and mental health. Volunteers support seniors' safety while out in the community during walks and errands.
This service is available Monday-Saturday.
Volunteers will meet them at a location and escort participants on foot. There will be no fees for such services.
Volunteer Information:
Volunteers will support seniors through the following activities:
Meet participants at a public site, such as their home or store, and escort them to other public sites within the greater Sacramento area
Examples of services include going for a walk, escorting a senior to an appointment, going grocery shopping, etc.
Ensure that the participant safely leaves the site or returns home
Contact law enforcement or the Program Coordinator as needed
